Two blue check marks? Nobody! Numerous users reported problems with the Whatsapp messaging service on social media on Thursday evening. About half an hour after the first bug reports, WhatsApp confirmed on Twitter that there were problems.
Whatsapp confirms the problems
“We have noticed and we are working on it,” confirmed Whatsapp on Twitter to the user’s problems. “We will keep you updated and in the meantime we thank you for your patience,” he said.
Many reports of the Whatsapp outage were also received on the portal “alle diffusione.de”. Shortly after 11pm (nearly 25,000 reports), the number of problem reports there has decreased again. However, this still does not mean an official green light.

Users and media from other European countries also report interruptions to WhatsApp. “Sky News” reports 30,000 reports of problems relating to the messenger in Great Britain (at 11pm). Several Portuguese media, several Spanish-speaking countries and Italy also report problems with Whatsapp.

In October last year, Whatsapp had huge problems for several hours. At that moment, in addition to Whatsapp, the other services of the company Meta, Instagram and Facebook, also had problems. In October 2021 the Facebook technicians had to solve the problem manually: after a few hours the services were restarted. (Swiss)
