- Elon Musk bought Twitter for $ 44 billion.
- Co-founder Jack Dorsey has now revealed what he thinks of the Tesla boss takeover.
- It is “the correct first step”.
For Jack Dorsey, Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter is “the way forward”. This was announced by the co-founder of the short messaging service after the mega-deal worth 44 billion US dollars became known.
Jack Dorsey: “I love Twitter”
“I love Twitter,” writes Dorsey on the service. According to him, nothing comes close to Twitter’s “global awareness”. The platform and the idea behind it are all that is important to him. Therefore, the 45-year-old wants to do everything to protect them.
“Twitter as a company has always been my only problem and my biggest regret,” continues Dorsey. It was therefore dominated by Wall Street and an advertising model. Ripping it off Wall Street, as Musk predicts, is “the correct first step”.
Dorsey believes in Elon Musk
Basically, Dorsey believes no one should own or control Twitter. In her opinion, only Musk can solve the problem that there is a company behind the platform. “This is the right way”, continues the co-founder. And he believes it with all his heart.
Dorsey resigned as head of Twitter in November. Musk, in turn, has been an active user himself for years and currently has more than 85 million followers on the short messaging service. In a statement, the businessman explains that freedom of expression is “the foundation of a functioning democracy” and that Twitter is a central place where things “crucial to the future of humanity” are discussed.
