Tesla’s competitor brings the luxury electric sedan to the European market

There is new competition for Mercedes EQS, Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT and BMW i7: after the Tesla Model S, now also the Lucid Air arrives in Europe. The range is high, as is the price.

There is a new challenger in the electric luxury class. A year after its US launch, Lucid will bring its Air luxury sedan to Europe at the end of the year. Here it competes alongside the Tesla Model S against models such as Mercedes EQS, Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT and the upcoming BMW i7.

According to the manufacturer, the price for the first edition of the so-called Dream Edition is 218,000 euros.

The first edition with 1111 CV

On the other hand, there is a five-seater with a decidedly aerodynamic design, about five meters long, which in every respect marks the top of the segment with its performance data: according to the manufacturer, the engines reach up to 828 kW / 1,111 hp, the speed maximum is 270 km / h H. And with its battery capacity of 118 kWh, the Air is expected to have a WLTP range of 900 kilometers, according to Lucid.

After the first edition, however, Lucid downgrades and offers the Air in three not too luxurious versions at prices that should start from around 100,000 euros.

Pure, Touring and Grand Touring will follow

According to the manufacturer, the Pure base model should be equipped with a single 353 kW / 480 hp engine and a range in the US of 620 kilometers, the Touring is equipped with two 456 kW / 620 hp engines and can travel up to 650 kilometers and for the future Lucid promises the top model Grand Touring with 588 kW / 800 hp and 830 kilometers.
