Although Niklas Süle has already started, it is possible that FC Bayern will miss out on another central defender next summer.
According to the French newspaper “L’Equipe”, three clubs are said to be interested in the young star Tanguy Nianzou. There is also serious interest from the Bundesliga.
Because in addition to AS Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig are rumored to want to borrow the 19-year-old defender. Former Bayern manager Julian Nangelsmann’s former club is said to have the best chance. The club hopes for a development similar to that of Dayot Upamecanowhich the Munich team brought from Leipzig last summer for 42.5 million euros.
The Saxons are known for developing young players.
Nianzou’s contract with FC Bayern runs until 2024
19-year-old Nianzou arrived at Bayern Munich last season with much initial praise from Paris Saint-Germain youth squad. So far, however, he has just not been able to live up to expectations.
He has been on the pitch for 15 Bundesliga games this season, but only three times for the full 90 minutes. In his time with the German record champions, he was repeatedly pushed backwards from severe muscle injuries. At Bayern, however, they still believe in the French.
Nianzou’s contract in Munich will last until the summer of 2024, so Bayern executives would only accept a loan with no possibility of redemption.
Trust of Salihamidžić, criticisms of Nagelsmann
However, a departure is considered relatively unlikely as Niklas Süle will leave Monaco for free in the summer for Borussia Dortmund and Nianzou is expected to play a more important role in Julian Nagelsmann’s side. At least sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić should think a lot about the young Frenchman. On Sunday he said in a speech on Sky90 football: “We have a high defense. We have Upa, we have Tanguy Nianzou. I believe in these guys.”
Coach Julian Nagelsmann, on the other hand, has publicly criticized Nianzou multiple times this season for his risky playing style and excessive aggression in tackling.
In the away match against Arminia Bielefeld two weeks ago, in an aerial duel he hit his opponent in the head so hard with his elbow that he had to carry him off the pitch on a stretcher. Nagelsmann replaced Nianzou at half-time and admitted the Frenchman should have seen the red card.
Although Paris Saint-Germain once again became French champions over the weekend, the club is currently booming a lot. The Champions League goal was missed once again, already in the second round of this year it was over against Real Madrid. Coach Mauricio Pochettino is said to be on the verge of leaving and the departure of champion Kylian Mbappé is also sealed.
