Regensburg.Sparkasse Regensburg is thinning its branch network. As Deputy CEO Markus Witt announced in a press release yesterday, the network will be bundled.

At the turn of the year 2022/2023, ten of the current 31 branches would be closed. These are small locations in “a critical business size”. According to Witt, the Arnulfsplatz, Adolf-Schmetzer-Strasse, Schlesierstrasse and Burgweinting branches in Regensburg, as well as Laaber, Kallmünz, Sinzing, Beratzhausen, Zeitlarn and Tegernheim in the Regensburg district, are specifically affected. The cash supply would remain protected on-site at all locations. Self-service locations remained. Furthermore, there will be no savings on staff.

By the end of the year, the financial institution is expected to have 21 advisory centers. This is nationwide, some locations should be expanded. CEO Irene Dullinger referred to a significant drop in customer frequency at the branches. Sparkasse Regensburg’s online banking share is above average in a Bavarian comparison.
