Snooker World Championship: Ronnie O’Sullivan just before the quarterfinals – Mark Williams dominates against Jackson Page

In the first frame of the evening session, O’Sullivan was still cold. Allen shortened to 3: 6. But when he missed Pink, a routine ball, in the next frame, O’Sullivan picked up speed and extended his lead with a 93.

O’Sullivan caused goosebumps in the twelfth frame when he tried the max. However, after 88 points he moved on to 12th red.

Two missed black balls then cost Allen the 13th frame. The only redeeming point for the Northern Irishman was frame 14 when he played a 110, his he 50th century at the Crucible Theater. But when he missed in the 15th frame after a red 49, the session was over for him.

O’Sullivan has a tip for the snooker star: “You must be a robot”

O’Sullivan scored 11: 4 and ended the evening with a break of exactly 100 points.

Reigning champion Selby and Yan Bingtao with the thriller

Reigning champion Mark Selby and Yan Bingtao deliver the eagerly awaited fighting duel. 4: 4 is the score after the first session. Yan led 3-1 at half time. But he had only gained two color frames, even though Selby was already clearly ahead at times.

After the break, however, Selby acted more forcefully and managed to balance the session.

Stephen Maguire surprisingly extended his lead against Zhao Xintong to 11: 5 in the second session. Fighting Zhao convinces; so he won the tenth frame even though he needed a snooker on the squad. But the English and German Masters champion fails to put his feared offensive game into action.

Williams WINS fast forward

Maguire has continuously expanded his lead with a large number of good breaks.

Mark Williams got a free night when he defeated his protégé Jackson Page in the second session with 13: 3 and was the first player to reach the quarter-finals.

The victory didn’t necessarily make him happy: “I really wanted to win, but now it didn’t have to be so clear.”

Williams knows the feeling of losing prematurely in the second session: last year he lost 3:13 to Mark Selby in the quarter-finals.
