There is still grain on the 19 hectare area along the Weststraße industrial estate in Bernburg. But the excavators are already turning here in September: because “Avnet” wants to build a new distribution center for semiconductors and electronic components.

The logistics area covers approximately 56,000 square meters. 225 million euros are invested, 700 jobs are created. Subsequently, the chips will also be programmed and distributed for end customers.

The center will go into operation in 2024 and up to 19,000 parcels will be delivered every day. “Avnet” employs 14,000 people in 125 locations around the world. Bernburg is the third largest office in Europe. The US giant “Avnet” has 125 offices around the world.
