Lung specialist Valipour thinks it’s possible we’ve all been infected with Corona multiple times. A lockdown in the fall is still unlikely.
Arshang Valipour, a lung specialist at the Floridsdorf clinic, is only slightly surprised by the increase in crown numbers. This will put a strain on hospitals again, says Armin Wolf in the “ZiB 2” interview, because the standard here has been consistently higher from Omikron. Many employees are also on vacation in the summer.
He attributes the fact that things are still relatively moderate in intensive care units to the high percentage of those who have recovered or been vaccinated. In addition, there is now a drug for the treatment of severe courses. However, it is still too early to abolish the crown quarantine.
The virus is here to stay
Valipour himself still wears an FFP2 mask in the supermarket, on public transport and obviously in the hospital, and tests himself even before meetings with older family members. For the fourth point, however, only high-risk patients or people over the age of 65 should currently. “
“It is entirely possible,” Arshang Valipour says when Wolf asks him if we will all be infected with Corona several times. Even with the flu, this is nothing unusual. “Let’s assume the virus is here to stay.”
And to the big blocking question: “I don’t think so”, Valipour speculates in “ZiB 2”. You can’t look into the crystal ball, but the immunization rate is quite high. “In the end it is a political decision”.
