Ralf Becker will probably remain the sporting director of Dynamo Dresden: “I love being here, work is fun!”

He would like to continue working for the DGS! Ralf Becker answered TAG24’s questions in an interview. The head of sport sees his future at Dynamo Dresden.

Dresden – The situation annoyed Dynamo of Dresden sales manager Jürgen Wehlend (56) the previous week. Neither the sporting director Ralf Becker (51) nor the coach Guerino Capretti (40) have valid working documents in the event of a possible relegation.

“It’s just not okay,” Wehlend says. Becker commented this Monday. Trend: would also remain in 3rd division. TAG24 spoke to the 51-year-old during mixed zone training in the afternoon.

TAG24: Mr. Becker, late in the evening of 24 May it will be clear where Dynamo will play next season. You only have one contract for them 2. Liga, but they also have to deal with the relegation scenario. What would happen to you then?

Becker: For me, the situation was relatively clear after the climb. I approached the club and suggested extending the contract here for the long term. Also with the possibility of open exit. The club had to evaluate it for themselves. This has happened now. We basically agree. I am very happy here, the club would like to continue too. Now we need to see how it develops. We will solve it.

TAG24: Looks like you’re definitely staying?

Becker: It seems that I really enjoy being here, that I enjoy my job. I remain convinced that everything we talk about will happen next year. But of course we also have to deal with all eventualities. Shall we.

TAG24: Your manager also only has a second division contract. How about him?

Becker: I am very happy with ‘Rino’ work, even if the results are not what we would like them to be. Now I suggest to clarify one thing first, the sports one and then the other.

TAG24: Another problem: other second division clubs are already reporting newcomers. How are you planning the new season?

Becker: We design for all eventualities. I am convinced that Plan A will happen and this is how I approach the situation.

TAG24: Now there are two points games left before relegation. How will you contest it? For example, are players in danger of extinction at rest?

Becker: Basically, it would be a big mistake to pretend the two games aren’t important. But on the contrary. We want to use them to warm up. In Karlsruhe and then the derby against Aue. These are extremely important matches, even if in the end we know where we are in the standings. It would be wrong to say that it is not important, after that it is important. We have to keep the tension high. We have to give everything in the two league games.

TAG24: The relegation opponent is Braunschweig, Kaiserslautern or 1860 Munich. Will you be watching all three teams over the weekend?

Becker: We have all seen opponents from time to time. But now take a closer look with your own eyes. We will of course re-analyze the games thoroughly.
