Neuer and Gnabry let Bayern freak out

While the managers have one less construction site with Thomas Müller’s contract extension, the next successful news in terms of extensions may still be slow in coming. According to current reports, Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry are in no hurry to extend.

The extension with Thomas Müller was supposedly the easiest task for Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. The original Bavarian has made a clear commitment to the FCB in recent weeks and has never hidden the fact that he would like to extend his contract.

As “Sport BILD” reports, Bayern are not that far away with Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry. According to the newspaper, the two DFB stars are in no hurry to sign a new working document.

Neuer wants to play longer at the highest level

According to “Sport BILD”, Neuer is still reluctant to accept the offer, which would tie him to the record champions until 2024. It is said that he is still hoping for a 2-year contract until 2025. Unlike Serge Gnabry or Robert Lewandowski, the goalkeeper has no plans to change. On the contrary: Neuer is still open to ending his career in Monaco and would like to play at the highest level for as long as possible. Bayern, on the other hand, already have a successor in the starting blocks to Alexander Nübel. Isar officials are reportedly still convinced of the 25-year-old. However, he recently pointed out that he would rule out a return to the FCB if Neuer extended his (long-term) contract.

Gnabry is flirting with a free goodbye in 2023

In Gnabry, however, Bayern managers are likely to be much more nervous. The exterior has had an improved offering for a long time. As the “Sport BILD” wants to know, this should amount to 17-19 million euros per year. The 26-year-old has neither accepted nor rejected it so far. As a result, he is disappointed in the long and difficult negotiations and complains of the lack of appreciation.

According to information from “Sport BILD”, the striker is still flirting with a free transfer to Real Madrid in 2023. FCB, on the other hand, would like to prevent this scenario and are pushing for a sale in the summer if there are no extensions.
