Lufthansa talks to Airbus of the A350-1000

Hurray!

All that is missing now is that it turns out that an A350-900 / -1000 fleet would be optimal for Zurich and much more efficient than the A330 / A350 / B777 combination with separate fleet bodies.
And you can fly the B777 in FRA mixed with the yogurt cup. Wouldn’t that be a cheap solution?

No, it wouldn’t be.
Since the B77w works for Switzerland, why would planes be taking off there and asking questions?

There is no doubt that the LH A35K can perform just as well. This surprises me anyway, because the direct successor of the A346 is probably the A35k.
Equally long, and in the desired Class 4 layout you get the roughly 300 seats you have in the A346.
In my opinion, an A35k makes a lot of sense at LH, especially if it’s readily available now.
You can then take the A346 and B744 out of service, have a relatively small fleet and therefore not depend on Boeing’s tet-a-tet with the FAA.

You don’t just have to look at the fleet at LH itself, but also at AUA, Swiss and Brussels.
AUA will likely get some B789s, there’s hardly anything else left.

Does the LH take all the A350 itself? It would be very.
The A359 as a replacement for the A343 for Swiss would fit as an addition to the A333 and B77W.
Brussels only operates Airbus and may take some as well.

Order the A35k now, ship FRA and MUC, B744 and A346 mid-term.
If you then get the B779 in 3+ years, do you put it in FRA as a supplement / replacement for the B748 and hit the A350 in MUC? LH has had the B748 for 10 years, so it’s possible that when the B779 arrives – it will take another 3 years – to think about phasing it out.

With the price of oil, each A350 will pay for itself relatively quickly if it replaces one of the 4 radiators.

And the WB fleet will still be leaner in the group:
A333, B789, A359 / k, B77W / 9, B748

Eventually, I thought to myself why LH had to be pushed so hard to make her happy.

Manufacturer B does not deliver and there is material tested by manufacturer A – and also at a special price wg. random cancellations. So it was surprising that there were no rumors.

LH has more luck than common sense now 🙂
