Ever since Jürgen Klopp took over Liverpool FC, a Bundesliga star has always been the center of attention of the former world manager. In 2016 he brought goalkeeper Lloris Karius from Mainz, in 2018 Naby Keïta from Leipzig, in 2020 Thiago from Bayern and last year again Ibrahima Konaté from Leipzig.
Klopp wants two Austrians
Klopp is rumored to want to sign two players from the Bundesliga this summer. He is said to have been interested in Konrad Laimer for several weeks. However, numerous other top clubs are courting the 24-year-old, including Bayern and Dortmund. RB also hopes for an extension of the contract for the Austrian.

As reported by “Sport Bild”, Klopp also kept an eye on his colleague from Laimer’s national team, Christoph Baumgartner. The 22-year-old is under contract with TSG Hoffenheim until 2025 and attracted attention there with strong performances.
He has appeared in 27 Bundesliga games this season, scoring six goals. A year earlier he had already excelled in the Europa League (five points in eight games). Baumgartner had previously been linked to Liverpool FC at the time but had recently extended his contract.
30 million euros: Baumgartner should have an exit clause
With Hoffenheim again in danger of losing their squads with two games to go and five points behind, a move to the Reds would be an opportunity for Baumgartner to play internationally again. However, Klopp also has to outdo several rivals at Baumgartner: Sevilla FC and Leicester City would have already officially requested.
According to the report, Baumgartner’s current employer has little say in the change. Apparently, the Austrian was promised a € 30 million release clause when he extended his contract a year and a half ago.
In a failed season at Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo is the only bright spot in the squad of 20 times English champions. At the ripe old age of 37, the superstar still performs consistently well and has saved United from a loss or two. In 38 official matches he scored 24 goals and prepared three.
