The next vacancy is announced in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Center. The fault is not the position, but the failure of the textile company Orsay.
Villingen-Schwenningen – The fashion chain based in Willstädt (Ortenaukreis) closes all branches in Germany and has laid off around 1,200 employees. The decision to close the business had already been taken at the end of March and, according to the textile industry, should be concluded at the end of June.
June 30 is the last day
This is also confirmed by Klaus Kricks, manager of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Center: “The insolvency procedure has failed, the company is history”. In early June, the center received information that the branch would no longer open after June 30.
The store is currently running a clearance sale, but according to a notice, opening hours are severely limited. But Kricks points out that there are already interested parties for the area. However, he doesn’t want to give any further details at the moment.
The real area is in focus
However, the large mall in the central dual city zone is initially struggling with another vacation. The focus is in particular on the empty space in Real: the supermarket was closed at the end of September 2021. It is not yet clear who will open there. Kaufland in particular is in the room. At the request of our editorial team, the company recently announced that “there is no new information at the moment” about a possible location in Villingen-Schwenningen. One thing is clear: the center would like to have a grocer on site again.
The closure of the Adler branch in March and the demise of Aldi in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Center resulted in additional jobs. The discount area was last used as a vaccination center.
