Chelsea FC – Antonio Rüdiger unveils: I wanted to go to PSG – FOOTBALL

The time of national player Antonio Ruediger (29) in Premier League at Chelsea is coming to an end. The central defender has decided not to renew the expiring contract. After the season he will leave the club after five years. His path will follow him to Real Madrid Spain to drive.

He almost left Chelsea earlier. The 29-year-old was very dissatisfied with former manager Frank Lampard (2019-2021). The Englishman was not relying on him at the time. “I was no longer in the squad. He said I had to go, but I was never told directly”, he explained in an interview with “DAZN”. And: “I was ready to go”.

Even then he wanted to go to his current Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel. So his target: Paris Saint-Germain.

But things turned out differently. His situation with the “Blues” has changed. “When finally there was a crisis under Lampard, he relied on me again,” said Rüdiger. In early 2021, Lampard was released and Tuchel came in his place. He immediately put a lot of confidence in the central defender.

His biggest success with Chelsea: winning the Champions League with Tuchel last year. “I couldn’t imagine it, I’ll be honest. The last thing we dreamed of was the final one.”

Now he wants to go chasing the title with Real next season.
