Toni Rüdiger (29) says no to England!
The German national defender will leave Chelsea at the end of the season and will not extend his expiring contract with Champions League winner Thomas Tuchel (48).
background: Rüdiger, courted by many of Europe’s top clubs, is looking forward to Chelsea finding a new club owner to make his decision. Before that, Chelsea could not sign any contracts with the players.
BILD learned: Out of respect for Chelsea, Rudiger even turned down an offer from Manchester United. United had offered the defender an annual salary of up to ten million euros net. But Rüdiger doesn’t want to play for another Premier League club after five years at Chelsea, during which time he has become a fan favorite.
Rüdiger will go abroad.
BILD knows: although Juventus Turin and Paris Saint-Germain are also affected, Rüdiger is said to be on the verge of a deal with Real Madrid.
Bitter for Thomas Tuchel: After Andreas Christensen (26), the Chelsea manager loses his second central defender.
