Preparations are in full swing in Bärenstein. Because Sunday is the beginning of the week of the festival, which has as its motto “You have already done gymnastics today”. “150 years of sport in Bärenstein” are celebrated. Everyone was then called upon to decorate their property accordingly. Roland Richter and his neighbors also got creative and, true to the motto, built a gymnast on the horizontal bar. “There are already skiers in town, we wanted to do something different,” he says. To realize their idea, they quickly converted the math teacher they had created for the 800th anniversary. “We thought that if you can do math, you can also ski,” says the retiree and laughs. Said and done. In a lifting action, they threw the gymnast and the horizontal bar in one morning, including the right clothing.

But not only in the village, but also in the Leitengrund fairgrounds. The big tent is about to be set up. But the curtainmaker went to the wrong Bärenstein. But that doesn’t bother the organizers on Thursday morning, although everything should be set up in the evening, because that’s where the women’s sports group comes to decorate. Thilo Mühle and Matthias Naumann, both of TSV Bärenstein, are on the spot and pulling the strings. “We are all still very relaxed,” says Thilo Mühle.

Both are part of the organizational team, made up of twelve people. They planned the festival for a total of three years and put a lot of effort into putting together a well-rounded program, suitable for the club and also offering cultural and sporting moments. The festival week will begin at 4pm with a gala event for alumni, active members and guests. Then there is an evening program. “Everyone is invited,” says Matthias Naumann, deputy head of the club. “We are also lighting the bear fire that should have been burning all week. But Gazprom has canceled our contracts,” joke Matthias Naumann and Thilo Mühle.

Throughout the week, the individual departments of TSV Bärenstein will also present themselves with sports activities and participation offers for children, adults and families. Children can collect gold coins, in the end they receive a small prize.

True to the festival’s motto “You’ve already done gymnastics today”, the club also came up with something very special. On 10 July at 2 pm, a historic event will become reality again: at least 200 gymnasts will gather at the Leitengrund festival ground, possibly in white shorts and a white T-shirt. Like at the 17th Gauturnfest in 1908, where around 200 athletes from all over the Müglitztal performed gymnastics in Bärenstein on the lawn in front of the castle.

To mobilize the other Altenberg districts, the Bärensteiners presented a symbolic bear fire to each local mayor. “Sports groups are called upon to bring bear fire here with as many people as possible at 2pm and recreate the image,” explains Matthias Naumann. “White pants are not a must, a white T-shirt would be fine,” says Thilo Mühle.

live conference “360 degree triathlon – I’m the only limit” on 6 July by Jonas Deichmann on his triathlon in 430 days around the world.

Family CrossDeluxe, a mud race for the whole family, on July 9th. in addition to TrailDeLuxe, a trail run in and around Bärenstein over different distances. The longest round is over 30km on Geisingberg and through the gully of the Altenberg bobsled run.

The sporting event is Sunday 10 July at 2pm Turnergala on the festival grounds. From 15 the show of the renowned “Trio Zwinger” with Tom Paul. The band will play from 6pm “Dietmar and friends”.
