Airlander 10 hybrid airship for Air Nostrum

Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) has entered into an agreement with Air Nostrum to book ten Airlander 10. They are expected to enter service on Spanish regional routes starting in 2026.

The Air Nostrum group wants to equip hybrid airships with 100 seats each and use them on regional routes in Spain.

The “booking agreement” followed six months of in-depth studies and modeling conducted by Air Nostrum Group and Hybrid Air Vehicles to study the operation of the Airlander 10 on Spanish domestic routes and its economic potential. The Airlander 10 are expected to complement Air Nostrum Group’s existing fleet of aircraft currently operating on these routes, reducing emissions by 90%.

HAV expects to start production of the Airlander in South Yorkshire by the end of the year, creating approximately 1,800 new jobs in green aerospace technologies. Laur Tom Grundy, CEO of Hybrid Air Vehicles, the company is in advanced talks with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), the Doncaster City Council and other local and national stakeholders on creating a new green aerospace cluster in South Yorkshire .

HAV expects the Airlander 10 to be the first large aircraft in the world to fly with zero emissions, as it is already the most energy-efficient aircraft and further developments in electric propulsion are underway.
