6-0 against the taillight: Benzema reaches the true myth in a runaway victory

Benzema achieves a true legend with a runaway victory

Real Madrid are slowly preparing for the Champions League final: with a resounding victory, the royal team sent UD Levante to the 2nd division. Goalkeeper Karim Benzema only scores once but scores club idol Raul.

With a solid two weeks left in the Champions League final, Spanish football champions Real Madrid started their Primera Division warm-up program with a resounding victory. In the first leg Levante had won the big favorite 3: 3, but this time things went very differently. The hosts of coach Carlo Ancelotti and Torgarant Karim Benzema finished UD Levante at the bottom of the table 6-0 (4-0). Triple scorer Vinicius Junior (45th / 68th / 83rd minute) was the outstanding man of the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. Ferland Mendy (13th), Benzema (19th) and Rodrygo (34th) scored the other goals. Former DFB international Toni Kroos entered the field in the 75th minute. After the depressing defeat, the Levant is relegated.

Karim Benzema, who led his team to the Champions League final with 15 incredible goals in eleven games and also scored decisively in the spectacular semi-final against Manchester City, this time left the big show to Vinicius Junior. However, the French striker scored a milestone with his only goal of the evening: with his 323rd goal for Real Madrid, Benzema equaled the goal of the legend Real Raul.

Both strikers are on par, but still far behind the most dangerous scorer in the great history of the now 35-time Spanish champions: Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 450 goals for Real Madrid. The Portuguese left Real for Juventus in 2018 and the 37-year-old returned to play for Manchester United. Benzema is currently leading the La Liga scorers with 27 goals, well ahead of Vinicius Junior (17).

Four days ago, the royals lost the city derby to Atlético 0-1. In the European premier class final, Real Madrid will meet Liverpool FC with manager Jürgen Klopp on 28 May (21:00) in Paris.
